60,000 applied for 6,000 jobs in Delta State

No fewer than 60,000 applicants from the 25 local government areas of Delta State are presently seeking employment in the 6,000 employment scheme recently initiated by the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to alleviate the unemployment situation in the state.

At a news briefing in Asaba yesterday, the chief press secretary to the governor, Charles Aniagwu, said modalities have been worked out to pick the best among the applicants, adding that as the first of its kind, Dr. Okowa would ensure the success of the scheme.

Noting that the high rate of unemployment across the globe speaks volumes, the chief press secretary, however, assured Deltans of the governor’s commitment to ensuring prosperity for all, warning rumour mongers to desist from such and join hands with the Okowa-led administration to ensure its success.
